You call us. We fix it or replace it. Your problem becomes our problem — that's the whole point of renting locally.
This is actually one of the biggest advantages of renting over bringing your own scooter. If your own equipment breaks down in a foreign city, you're hunting for repair shops, dealing with language barriers, and potentially facing expensive shipping. With a rental, you make one phone call.
What Actually Happens
Step 1: You call or message us. We provide a local phone number that works during your rental period. WhatsApp works too. Describe what's happening — won't start, strange noise, battery not charging, whatever.
Step 2: We troubleshoot. Many issues have simple fixes — a circuit breaker that's tripped, a battery connection that's come loose, a setting that's been accidentally changed. We'll walk you through checking these first. Often, problem solved in five minutes.
Step 3: If that doesn't work, we come to you. We'll arrange to meet you — at your hotel, at the attraction, wherever you are. Depending on the issue, we'll either repair it on the spot or swap it for a replacement scooter.
Step 4: You continue your holiday. That's it. No repair bills, no hunting for parts, no ruined day. We handle the problem; you get back to enjoying Madrid.
Common Issues (And How Quickly They're Resolved)
Battery not charging: Usually a loose connection or charger issue. Phone fix in 5 minutes, or charger swap same day.
Scooter won't start: Often a tripped circuit breaker or key/fob issue. Phone fix in most cases. If not, replacement scooter delivered.
Flat tyre: Rare with solid tyres (which most rental scooters have), but if it happens, we'll swap or repair — usually within a couple of hours.
Strange noise or performance issue: We'll assess whether it's safe to continue or needs attention. If in doubt, we swap it out.
Accident damage: Contact us immediately. We'll assess the situation and ensure you have working equipment. Damage liability depends on circumstances — see your rental agreement.
Realistic Response Times
We're not going to promise 30-minute response times across all of Madrid — that's not realistic. What we can tell you:
Phone support: Immediate during operating hours. We answer or call back within minutes.
Central Madrid: Usually 1-2 hours for in-person assistance or swap.
Outer areas: May take longer depending on location and traffic.
Outside operating hours: We provide emergency contact information for urgent situations.
What Does Breakdown Support Cost?
Nothing extra — it's included in your rental. Mechanical failures, electrical issues, normal wear and tear — all covered. You don't pay for repairs or replacement equipment.
The only exception is damage caused by misuse or accidents. If you drive into a fountain or down a flight of stairs, that's different. Normal breakdowns? That's on us.
The Real Point: Peace of Mind
Most rentals go perfectly smoothly — no calls, no issues, no drama. But knowing support exists changes how you feel about the trip. You're not wondering "what if something goes wrong?" You know the answer: you call, we fix it.
That's worth something. It's worth a lot, actually.
Questions to Ask Any Rental Company
If you're comparing rental options, ask:
• What's the support phone number and when is it staffed?
• What happens if the scooter breaks down — repair or replacement?
• How quickly can you respond to problems?
• Is breakdown support included or extra?
• What's covered and what isn't?
Vague answers or extra charges for support are red flags. Good rental companies build support into their service because they know equipment sometimes fails.
