Scooter Town – Mobility Scooter Rental Services

We keep mobility scooter rentals simple so you can explore Madrid comfortably and confidently. Please read these Terms carefully before making a booking. By completing a reservation, you agree to be bound by them.

About the Service

1. Purpose

These Terms govern the temporary rental of mobility scooters provided by Scooter Town in Madrid, including delivery and collection at hotels, tourist accommodations or private residences.

The service includes:

  • Reservation of a mobility scooter
  • Delivery to the agreed address
  • Temporary use by the client
  • Collection at the end of the rental period

All scooters remain the property of Scooter Town at all times.

Booking & Eligibility

2. Eligibility

By placing a booking, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • The information provided is accurate and complete
  • You accept these Terms in full

Scooter Town reserves the right to refuse service in cases of misuse, fraudulent activity or breach of these Terms.

3. Bookings and Payment

Bookings must be made through our website or by confirmed written agreement via email.

Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

We accept payment by valid debit or credit card and other payment methods indicated at checkout.

A booking is confirmed only once payment has been successfully processed and confirmation has been issued.

Rental Period & Changes

4. Minimum Rental Period

All rentals have a minimum period of 3 days.

If the scooter is returned before the 3-day minimum, the full minimum charge applies.

Extensions are subject to availability and are billed at the applicable daily rate.

5. Cancellations and No-Shows

Free cancellation applies in the following cases:

  • Flight cancellation
  • Significant schedule changes beyond your control

You must notify us as soon as possible by email.

No-show policy: If delivery is attempted at the confirmed location and no one is present, and we were not informed in advance, a no-show fee equivalent to one day’s rental will apply.

6. Early Returns and Extensions

If you return the scooter after the 3-day minimum but earlier than originally booked:

  • Unused days beyond the minimum rental period will be refunded
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days

Extensions must be requested before the scheduled return date and are subject to stock availability.

Delivery, Use & Condition

7. Delivery and Collection

We offer delivery and collection in Madrid to hotels, holiday apartments, Airbnbs and private residences (as agreed at booking).

The client must:

  • Provide accurate delivery details
  • Ensure someone is present at the agreed time
  • Inform us promptly of any schedule changes

If delivery or collection cannot be completed due to incorrect information or client absence, additional fees may apply.

8. Condition at Delivery

All scooters are delivered inspected and in proper working condition, with the battery charged and ready to use.

The client must inspect the scooter at delivery and report any issue immediately so we can resolve it on the spot.

Failure to report visible damage or defects at delivery may result in charges if such issues are identified at return.

9. Use, Care and Responsibility

The client agrees to:

  • Use the scooter only as intended and in a safe manner
  • Follow operating and safety guidance provided at delivery
  • Respect local rules and pedestrian safety
  • Not use the scooter in a way that may cause damage (e.g., stairs, escalators, water exposure)

The client is responsible for the scooter during the rental period.

Loss, theft, misuse or damage beyond normal wear and tear may result in repair or replacement charges at market value.

Normal wear from correct and careful use is acceptable.

10. Battery Charging

The client is responsible for charging the scooter during the rental period following the instructions provided.

Damage caused by incorrect charging, use of non-approved chargers, liquid exposure, or improper storage may be charged to the client.

11. Returns

  • The scooter must be returned on the agreed date and time
  • All accessories provided must be included (e.g., charger, basket, key, seat if applicable)
  • The scooter must be returned in the same condition as delivered (except normal wear)

Late returns may incur additional daily rental charges.

12. Damage, Loss or Theft

In case of damage, loss or theft, the client must notify Scooter Town immediately.

If damage occurs due to misuse, negligence or failure to follow instructions, the client will be liable for repair or replacement costs.

If the scooter is lost or stolen during the rental period, the client is responsible for its full replacement value.

Legal Information

13. Liability

Scooter Town is not liable for:

  • Injuries resulting from improper or unsafe use
  • Failure to follow operating or safety instructions
  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • Delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control (force majeure)

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted under Spanish law.

14. Force Majeure

Scooter Town shall not be held responsible for delays or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, strikes, transport disruptions, government restrictions or other force majeure events.

15. Modifications

Scooter Town reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. The version applicable to your booking will be the one in force at the time of confirmation.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is declared invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Spanish law.

Any dispute shall be submitted to the Courts and Tribunals of Madrid, Spain, unless mandatory consumer protection regulations provide otherwise.
